Facilities management in London have an exceptional team who work hard and to a high standard to ensure your facility looks the best.

There are many advantages of outsourcing a facilities management company. 14 of which have been listed below.

1. Reduced Cost

A huge advantage of outsourcing is its affordability. Facilities management is a very affordable service and will allow you to spend your money responsibly. A professional team will provide outstanding performance and give you the opportunity to be more productive and efficient. Within the cost you will receive a full service, ensuring that your workspace is maintained to the highest standard.

2. Efficiency

A facilities management team is an incredible investment for a business. With minimal disruption, employees won’t be distracted during the management process, and the facility will be able to operate efficiently. A facilities management team will have access to the best equipment further ensuring that your building is maintained to a remarkable standard.

3. Expert Knowledge

As they are professionals in their field, an expert facilities management team will have a great deal of experience and a full understanding of the work they need to carry out. This understanding and knowledge will allow you to have a great deal of trust in the work they do and improve the business’s professionalism.

4. Simplified Process

Life will become much easier for you. This is because you won’t be required to go out a look for the best equipment to use. Again, because of this, you will be able to save money and time.

A facilities management team will cover a range of services for you, delivering them to you at an incredible rate. Rather than having multiple companies to service your facility, you can simply have one company to call for all your facility requirements.

5. Flexible

The team will be flexible to your needs and individual requirements. You can dedicate a day a month or every two weeks for them to come and service your facility. Not only will you be able to choose the specific date you would like the team to come, but you will also be able to select the service you require to allow for optimum efficiency.

6. KPI Monitoring

KPI’s are used in all working environments to help everyone achieve their best. Monitoring KPI’s will help to ensure that all of your goals and targets are met. You can even use KPI’s to assist with the report writing for the facilities management team. With them understanding the key areas you want maintaining they will be able to do a more specific and personalised job.

7. Reputation

A business’s reputation is a major part of having a business. If you have a poor reputation, customers won’t be as willing to trust it. Building a reliable and trustworthy reputation will allow the business/facility to look good and the facilities management team to look respectable too. Ensuring you have a good facilities management team will help you build a strong relationship with the customers. As a well-maintained business, you will look professional and desirable to customers.

8. Best Practice

Facilities management companies are always updating their knowledge and practices to ensure that they can offer you the best service and experience. From outsourcing a facilities management team, it means that as a business you don’t have to pay large amounts of money to keep up with the relevant legislation; the management team will do that for you.

9. Optimise Your Employees

You will be able to enhance yours and your employee’s skills and build on the business’s potential. Having a management team will give you more time to focus on the more pertinent and important factors allowing you to have a successful business.

10. Personal Retention

A clean and tidy work area will build on the morale of the employees and business. Employees will be disinclined to work hard if they are struggling to find documents or they’re in a dirty environment. Not only will the management team keep the workspace clean, but it will also make it much safer for employees and allow them to feel happier and more comfortable.

11. Health and Safety

Health and safety is a major part of a business. Ensuring the employees are safe is essential. Having a professional facilities management team will ensure that you keep everyone safe. Outsourcing a facilities management company will ensure that health and safety regulations will not be compromised.

A general example of this would be if employees were cleaning they may use the wrong chemicals. Such as using a toilet cleaner to clean the desks. This would massively compromise health and safety standards at the business.

12. Core Business

With a facilities management team looking after and maintaining your facility it allows you to have more time to focus on the key areas of the business. You will have more time to work on the building of the business and looking after any customer bases. Office cleaning in Essex will ensure that your offices are kept incredibly tidy and organised. An organised office helps to enhance performance and morale.

13. Organisation

An organised work facility will allow for a better and more constructive working attitude. When a working area is kept neat and tidy, with documents organised and files kept in the relevant places, employees will find that they are able to work much easier. They’ll be able to find what they need to when necessary, reducing time spent searching for a file. Alongside this, the organisation will also make the company look good as when people come to visit they won’t be put off by a mess. Instead, they will be impressed with the professionalism and cleanliness of the facility.

14. Opportunities to Grow

As the facilities management team is assisting the business with the maintenance and management of their building, the company will start to look more professional and experienced. An experienced business will lead to more success, and as a result, it will lead the facilities management team to benefit too as they will be related to the company and be seen as a trusted management business.

Why Use a Commercial Cleaning Company

Cleaning a large, busy room can be stressful and a challenge, especially when you’ve got things to do. Make your life easier by hiring a cleaning company to clean your office, making it shimmer thoroughly. Commercial cleaning in Essex has experienced professionals who will offer you the optimum service for keeping your work environment clean and tidy.

Safer

Removing any unnecessary pieces of rubbish and dirt in the office will allow the room to be more user-friendly, making it more productive. If the workspace gets too dirty, it can result in staff getting ill and having to take time off work. With ill staff, you may be required to hire temporary staff to fill the position.

Business Looks Better

Often clients may want to see the office you work in before they decide to work with you. Having it messy with rubbish everywhere will give them a poor impression. Keep the office sanitised to allow your business to have a stronger appearance.

Professional

Professional cleaners will make your office shine and sparkle. Due to their experience, they will do a thorough and in-depth job, removing any unnecessary bits of dirt. Buildups of dust can have effects on the respiratory system of employees. Professional cleaners will know the best way to minimise dust in the office.

More Organised

A clean office is an organised office. Maintaining a clean environment will make day-to-day working much easier and more productive. When they need to, employees will be able to find documents quickly which will optimise how much work they will get done in the day.

More Motivating for Staff

Having a clean work environment will improve the morale of the staff. A clean and tidy room will smell fresher and be more aesthetically pleasing. The more effort you put into looking after your employees will result in them putting more effort into their job.

Save Time

Having a commercial cleaning company clean your office will save you a significant amount of time; thus allowing you to fully focus on your job rather than having to worry about the cleaning. If you own a pub, you want it to be in pristine condition for not only staff but also customers. Pub cleaning in Essex will ensure that your pub is kept clean and sanitary.

Keeping Your Pub Clean

Having a clean pub is the ultimate way to get more service. A clean pub is very inviting to customers, and as a result, they are likely to then want to go back and tell their friends and family about it. It can be a challenge to keep a pub clean, however, with the right team, it will be a piece of cake. If you’re looking for an excellent and professional team, then pub cleaning in London will be able to help. They will make sure your pub is spotless.

Organise Glasses in Size Order

Organising the glasses in size order will make it much easier to find the right sized glass quickly. This will be especially useful on a busy Saturday night. As the orders come in, you’ll be able to keep up knowing exactly where each sized glass is. To be extra organised you can also order the glasses in a brand order, for example, J2O, Carlsberg or Fosters.

Organise The Drinks

Arranging the drinks based on their contents will also make it much easier to find each drink quicker. They could be ordered in the volume of alcohol or in order of what they are. For example, spirits, wines, beers or whiskeys. This could then be alphabetised, making it even easier to serve drinks. Having a clear understanding of where each drink is, will optimise bar sales and keep the bar much tidier.

Topped Up Utensil Pots

Topping up the napkin and straw containers not only makes the pub presentable, but it also makes it a lot tidier and cleaner. Having a tidy pub is a much more inviting site than a messy one. As customers walk in they don’t want to see the room in a mess with no stock, they’ll want to see a neat bar and a clean environment. Keep it tidy by ensuring that there are always plenty of straws, napkins and drinks accessible to customers. Facilities management in London can help your pub and offer it a professional and high-quality cleaning.

Clean Bar Mats

When you’re at the bar, you don’t want to put your arms or your phone down on a wet, dirty mat! You want to be able to relax at a clean, non-sticky bar. To ensure customers get the best experience in your pub make sure you keep your bar mats clean. Rubber mats are often best as they can be easily wiped down. However, during a busy night, you might want to keep an eye on the mats and change them every couple hours to keep them clean as clean as you can.

Organising Your Office

Organising your office can be a challenge and keeping it clean is a hassle, especially when the office is filled with people. Having a cleaner and more organised office will increase the productivity of employees. Office cleaning in Essex will optimise the workplace and pristinely clean your work environment.

Having a clean work area will clear your mind resulting in you thinking more rationally and having an improved work performance.

Listed below are a few ways that you can keep your work area clean.

Label Maker

Label makers are seriously underrated office appliances. They allow you to make a label for anything and place it on that item. In an office, there are a vast amount of areas that could require a label maker, this including things such as folders, drawers and boxes. By knowing what is in each of your folders or drawers, it will optimise your work time as you won’t have to spend ages looking around for something.

File Your Paperwork Systematically

Filing paperwork is one of the worst tasks you can do in your job due to it being boring and unprogressive. Not only is it boring but if not done properly it can result in files being mixed up or files being lost/destroyed. To avoid this set aside a day each week to put all your paperwork away. Doing this will make more room on your desk and make your work easier.

The best ways to file paperwork is by using coloured tabs and putting it in an order such as alphabetical or numerical.

Clear and Organise Your Desktop

Desks are a saving grace at work. Everything you need can be put on your desk and in the drawers, however, as practical as this may seem, it isn’t! Drinks and food may be spilt on files and computers may be damaged or broken. The best system is to have as little on your desk as possible. The essentials would be the computer, the phone, relevant files and a few items of stationery (but only the stationery you use on a daily basis).

Not in the Essex area? Not to worry! We have a team in London who offer the same exceptional standards. Office cleaning in London will clean your office and will enhance the working environment.

Why is keeping your pub clean so important?

Keeping your Pub clean is a major part of your business and will show how organised your whole operation is. The bar is where you prepare and serve drinks. Customers don’t want to put their arms on a sticky bar; they want somewhere clean to enjoy themselves and feel comfortable. Keeping the both the bar and pub clean will have positive impacts on the business, and it will improve the health and safety, food hygiene and the customer loyalty within the pub.

Why should you maintain a clean pub?

They are many arguments as to why you should keep your pub clean and tidy. Our facilities management team are highly skilled and will ensure that your pub is maintained to the highest quality. Listed below are a few reasons as to why you should maintain the cleanliness of your pub.

Tuning into ‪#‎Brexit‬ FM or Remain FM?

As we enter the final week of campaigning, the nations big dilemma is nearly upon us. Caught between “It’s the Economy stupid!” and “It’s about controlling immigration stupid!” each side of the argument is passionate about their outlook for Britain. But what does it means for the FM industry? We have polarising perspectives here also.

Recruitment challenges post Brexit figure highly in some of the commentary; such as this article from FM World
http://www.fm-world.co.uk/…/analysts-predict-the-economic-…/

In contrast the Remain perspective fears little from a “Buoyant” FM sector. Research conducted by BIFM in partnership with i-FM.net and Barclays indicated very little concerns from survey respondents.
http://www.bifm.org.uk/bifm/news/7494

It is easy to read the FM industry optimism as either way businesses will continue to focus on what they are good at and the advantages of outsourcing non-core competencies to specialist sector experts is a global phenomenon, whether we are in or out. In reality this referendum will have an impact, if only on how fast the FM industry does grow both here and in Europe.
With the vote pollsters pointing at a close race, neither side is going to easily “clean up” and on Thursday 23rd June a huge part of our world will be watching.

Don’t let your Restrooms Sink Profits

According to recent research many businesses in the UK aren’t adhering to the minimum standards when it comes to office toilets. Employees are facing long queues for the cubicles and unsatisfactory washroom facilities, which has an effect on our country’s bottom line.

Initial Washroom Hygiene found that 20% of small businesses are not meeting the legal requirements for the minimum number of toilets they have in their offices. Additionally, according to research, over 50% of those surveyed said that they regularly had to wait to use the toilet facilities at work (wasting over 5 hours a year of productivity) and 20% commented on how unhappy they were with the general facility standards.

Poor restroom facilities not only decrease productivity but office morale can also go down the pan. Even worse, customers have also been known to comment on the state of companies’ toilets; 3% of the study admitted losing business as a result of this.

So why not tap up a great Facilities Management company like WMS, to plug the gap in the care of your facilities! We understand the importance of a clean and well-maintained washroom. Check out our washroom services to find out more about our Cubicle and Urinal Management Washroom Services.

One In Three People Do not Wash Their Hands

A global survey from WIN/Gallup International has found that 65% of those polled across 64 countries ‘agree’ that washing their hands with soap and water is something they automatically do – however 26% somewhat agree, while just under one in ten (8%) disagree.

The survey interviewed a total of 62,398 people across the world and found there are significant differences by region. Those from China and Japan were significantly less likely to automatically use soap and water (23% and 30% respectively), while those from Saudi Arabia were most likely to wash hands with soap and water.

Within Europe, the Greeks reported to be the cleanest, 85% agreeing that they wash their hands with soap and water automatically, the Dutch the least likely (50%).

In the Americas Colombia proved to be the cleanest with 93% agreeing that they automatically wash their hands with soap while Mexico was the least likely to agree with 32% either simply somewhat agreeing, somewhat disagreeing or disagreeing completely.

Around the world, 440 million school days are lost every year due to water, sanitation and hygiene related diseases (WHO/UNICEF 2013). It is estimated that hand washing with soap alone could save over 650,000 lives each year (Greenland et al 2012).

Jean-Marc Leger, president of WIN/Gallup International Association, said: “It is estimated that 35% of the global population has no access to safe bathroom facilities and that an alarmingly high number of people across the world are not washing their hands with soap and water, either because of a lack of facilities or bad habits.”

New Recycling Registration ‘Is Going To Waste’
A high number of workplaces are unaware of new legislation that was introduced at the start of January and means that waste handlers in England and Wales must now collect recyclable materials separately, according to workplace equipment supplier Slingsby (www.slingsby.com).

Under the Waste Regulations 2011, since 1 January 2015 public and private waste collectors have to collect paper, plastic, metal, and glass separately from each other whenever it is technically, environmentally or economically practicable to do so.

Lee Wright, marketing director at Slingsby, said: “Until fairly recently 90% of UK waste was sent to landfill which was clearly unsustainable and although we’ve made some major improvements in recent years there’s still more we can do as a nation. These latest changes aim to increase both the quantity and the quality of waste that is recycled and it follows similar regulations being introduced in Scotland at the start of 2014. The legal requirements actually lie with the waste collectors, so many are encouraging their commercial customers to separate waste as it is produced. However, it appears that many businesses are still adapting to the new regulations and many that we speak to are not even aware of them. As a result of these regulations we have seen a steady increase in sales of recycling equipment in recent months, including segregation bins, containers and signage, and there has been a surge of sales since the start of the year as firms rush to adapt. In addition to the environmental benefits of these regulations, recycling will usually save money and forward thinking workplaces can even use it to their advantage when it comes to winning work, because being able to boast about good environmental credentials often sits well with customers.”

Taskforce Campaigns To Improve Working Conditions For Cleaning Operatives

A campaign to promote good working conditions in the cleaning industry has been launched by an industry-led taskforce set up by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

The taskforce, chaired by EHRC deputy chair Caroline Waters, includes leading businesses, trade associations and trade unions.

The Commission convened the taskforce following publication of its report The Invisible Workforce: employment practices in the cleaning sector. This set out its findings on employment practices in the commercial cleaning sector in England, Scotland and Wales.

The report found many examples of good practice. These included cleaning firms with policies in place to promote equality and also clients who enter into longer-term contracts. These help firms to develop positive relationships with suppliers and also encourage investment in workforce development, leading to greater job stability.

The report also found that some employers did not provide contracts to staff. Further, some failed to pay their employees in full, or to pay sickness or holiday leave entitlements. Many cleaning operatives are female migrants, who spoke of being ‘invisible’, of being treated badly compared to other employees, and said they did not understand their rights.

To solve these problems the taskforce developed principles for responsible procurement. The purpose of this is to encourage clients who buy in cleaning services to consider the impact of procurement on the employment practices of cleaning providers. The taskforce also developed a poster to highlight the value of cleaning operatives, and Your Rights at Work postcards for cleaning firms to send to their employees explaining their employment rights.

All of the materials are available to download on the Commission’s website.

Caroline Waters, Equality and Human Rights commissioner and taskforce chair, said: “The Commission’s role is to promote and enforce the laws that protect our rights to fairness, dignity and respect. It has been a great privilege to have worked over the past year or so with so many people who are committed to improving the working conditions of cleaning operatives.

“It is fantastic that taskforce members drawn from across business, industry, trade associations, government, voluntary bodies and trade unions have come together with their thoughts, ideas and energy, and with a real appetite for tackling the problems our original report revealed. We very much hope the tools we have now produced will help to bring real and lasting change for commercial cleaning operatives.”
